Summer is coming to a close, and travelers are looking for any way to escape the colder temperatures and darker days that are fast approaching. Now is the time to book fall travel and to start planning ahead before those dreaded price increases.
According to a Seasonal Travel Index released by Tripadvisor, 3 out of 4 of American travelers say they will travel this fall. International travel has exceeded 2019 numbers, and 4 out of 5 U.S. travelers are hoping to venture more than four hours from home.
Fan favorites such as Mexico and the Caribbean continue to capture traveler interest, with affordable flight prices from U.S. cities and sunny weather. As such, there are 3 beach destinations with the best all-inclusive resorts in the world that Americans are itching to explore this fall — Cancun, Punta Cana, and Los Cabos.
With its close proximity to many places in the U.S. (and numerous flights daily), incredible all-inclusives, and perfect weather, it’s no secret why Mexico and the Dominican Republic made it on the top 10 list for travel this fall.
Cancun, Punta Cana, and Cabo San Lucas offer visitors affordable prices, rest and relaxation, and exciting activity options throughout your stay.
Ideal For Relaxing
With half of U.S. travelers surveyed looking for relaxation, if you’re looking to get away from it all and immerse yourself in a beachy oasis, these 3 beach destinations are the perfect place for you to visit this fall.
Scattered along its pristine beaches, Cancun has an array of all-inclusive options (from family-friendly options to adult-only options).
Known as Mexico’s leading luxury destination, Cabo San Lucas has 3 new resorts this year and more to come.
Similarly, Punta Cana is a haven for resort lovers looking for a little R&R. At the Easternmost tip of the Dominican, Punta Cana is surrounded by clear-blue waters and sandy shores. Properties here are taking resorts to a whole new level, with daily activity offerings and even theme parks.
Newly opened in 2023, Falcon’s Resort became the first of its kind to open the first theme park in the Caribbean (ideal for families and adults looking to tap into their inner child!).
Affordable Options
For 2023, Americans are prioritizing affordability, with 3 out of 5 saying their most important factor is cost. Luckily enough, resorts don’t always have to break the bank.
Cancun and Punta Cana do have a variety of options at all cost points, depending on what you’re looking for and what you want included.
Properties in both places do offer rates under $150 a night in the fall (so grab them fast!).
It’s important to note that most resorts provide different all-inclusive packages. It’s definitely an option to spend a little more on a package that includes more, but it’s also possible to keep it basic and affordable.
If you want to keep it cheap and cheerful, it’s certainly doable in both places.
Activities Galore
U.S. travelers want more from their trips. They’re looking to cram in 3-5 activities on average, compared to people living in other countries- and these 3 beach destinations are the place!
According to the report, the most booked experiences in Cancun and Cabo were Chichen Itza and a sunset cruise (with an open bar of course). Punta Cana saw many travelers looking for adventure: booking the 4×4 ATV tour with a visit to a water cave.
While these were the most popular this year, there’s a variety of day trips and activities to experience in all 3 locations for every age and traveler type!
